Welcome to Page Two of our "Private Collections Gallery Page." This page continues the browsing gallery of
Contemporary Zuni Fetish Carvings that have come through our hands and are now either in our personal collection or in
private collections. Most of the fetishes carved on this
page were carved in 2000 and 2001 and we feel they are a wonderful reflection of the
varying styles
and
exotic materials being used today in addition to the direction some carvers are
heading in the future.
In most respects, the carvings shown on this page represent
'Fetish Sculpture by
Zuni Carvers,' not
to be confused with, or compared to 'Traditional Zuni Fetishes,' which
represent the roots
of this art-form.
We have chosen the carvings below for their originality and creativity as well as how they captured the 'essence' of the
animal within the stone. We've been blessed to come in contact with many extraordinary fetishes over
the years, we've only recently started saving the images (and not deleting them) as a record of this evolving art form.
We plan to update this page two to three times a year.

Zuni Warrior with Bear representing the Bear Clan. All one piece, the Bear has an inlaid heartline of Gem Coral, Natural Opal, Turquoise and
Lapis. There is an intricate pueblo with (carved-out) ladders and adobe bricks and intricate carvings at the top of the totem pole that is held
at the top by both the warrior and the bear. 6 1/2" high. Very powerful piece.
