#2729 Ron Laahty Nutria Butterfly Corn Maiden Zuni Fetish

This delightful Zuni fetish was carved by award-winning Zuni carver Ron Laahty. He carved the corn maiden inside of a butterfly with a young girl at her side. They have turquoise inlaid dots at her neck, along the butterfly's wings and along the drape of her robe in the back. Beautiful curves! Black jet inlaid eyes and mouth. Carved from native rock from the Nutria area of Zuniland. From 2003, Signed, 1" wide x 2 1/2" high.

#2710 Lorandina Sheche Royston-in-Rhyolite Zuni Bird Fetish

Lorandina is extremely adept at taking a rough piece of stone and only carving away what's not necessary to reveal the animal inside the rock. Carved from a piece of natural Royston Turquoise in Rhyolite Matrix rock from Nevada, this bird in flight has fabulous natural tan and brown markings in addition to a vein of green turquoise running through him. He has a sweet down-turned beak, natural Sleeping Beauty Arizona Turquoise inlaid eyes and a special inlaid Mediterranean Red Coral necklace for a finishing touch. #2704 Daniel Chattin Purple Spiney Shell Zuni Corn Maiden

This enchanting Zuni Corn Maiden curves inward so she can double as a worry-stone. Carved from a thick specimen of Purple Spiney Oyster Shell from the Sea of Cortez (spondylus shell). Carved in 1999, shell of this quality and thickness is rare today. The shell is purple and gold on her back with a white face, front and corn kernel front. She is decorated with traditional Zuni symbols such as dragonflies and corn stalks; both representative of moisture and 5/8" thick x 1 1/4" wide x 3 1/4" high. Signed.

#2708 Claudia Peina Zuni Corn Maiden w/ Tablita

Feminine and refined, this elegant Zuni Corn Maiden was carved from a thick piece of deer Antler that is off-white and well-polished. She is 4 5/8" tall, with a tall tablita crown on her head, long hair down her back and slight sway to her posture. Her etched and detailed robe, crown and moccasins are inlaid with turquoise, red coral and brown penshell dots, she has a turquoise dot necklace, black jet inlaid eyes and a red coral singing mouth. 1 1/8" wide x 1 1/8" thick, carved and signed by Claudia Peina, Zuni Pueblo, circa 2003.

#2707 Marnella Kucate Purple Fluorite Zuni Wolf Fetish 2002

Fabulous old-style wolf fetish by Marnella Kucate, who is the great-granddaughter of Theodore Kucate. Carved from a speciemn of natural Utah Purple Fluorite that has deep purple, lavender, gold, pink, white and black in a swirl that looks as great as it feels. The wolf has a Pearl Shell, turquoise and coral arrowhead bundle and Sleeping Beauty turquoise inlaid eyes. Carved and signed in 2002. 1" high, 4 1/4" long x 3/4" wide.

#2709 Lorandina Sheche Royston-in-Rhyolite Eagle Fetish

Carved from a special piece of high-grade Royston Turquoise in it's natural Rhyolite host rock that has a vr. The eagle is turning slightly to his right, looking out with natural Red Coral inlaid eyes. The smooth and well-polished turquoise beak and right feather areas are a brilliant shade of sky-blue to aqua to teal-blue: deep with zat (life in the stone). Carved in approximately 2003 by Lorandina Sheche of the Zuni Pueblo and finished with an inlaid necklace of inlaid turquoise dots that brings your eye to the 1/8"-wide teal-blue vein of turquoise running through his center. Large, 4" long x 1 3/4" wide x 2 1/8" high. Signed.
