5-Strand Pipestone & Melon Shell Heishe Necklace |
This one buzzes with an exciting color pattern. The beautiful, flowing necklace was entirely hand-made by Marvin and Lillie Lovato of the Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico. Visit the "About Heishe Page" to see them going through the steps of making a necklace like this. The five strands of 1/8" beads are made up of red-brown Pipestone and peach Melon Shell. This one required a higher level of difficulty to construct because the pipestone is so much softer than the melon, so they had to be very careful when spinning the beads to make them a uniform size. The necklace is finished with their custom sterling silver stamped and signed cones. Versatile, earthy, and comfortable, the beads are soft and smooth. 18" long at it's shortest plus 5" extension chain for adjusting the length. Marvin and Lillie will be showing their work for the 35th year at the prestigous, juried Santa Fe Indian Market Native art show this summer.

Oscar Cellicion Rainbow Man Zuni Inlay Necklace |
This magnificent Rainbow Man necklace was commissioned directly from Oscar Cellicion, Zuni, by a New England collector in 1984. Oscar was more than 80 years old at the time. A member of the famous Cellicion family, known for their inlay work. Oscar's work is considered among the finest of Zuni inlay work; some believe it to be the best of all Zuni inlay work and this necklace adds to that opinion. Producing this necklace took Oscar about six months as he was heavily involved in traditional Zuni religious events, especially the Shalako ceremony (held early every December). The necklace has eleven Rainbow Man Kachinas, which is a Zuni symbol for the supreme kachina spirit of harmony and beauty; a sign of the grace of the Great Mystery that gives man the privilege of walking this earth. The sterling silver and lapidary work are flawless. The stones include turquoise, black jet, both white and gold mother of pearl shell and Mediterranean coral. Strung on strong foxtail chain with...

Carico Lake Turquoise & Peridot Dangle Clip Earrings |
These earrings were made about six years ago, been in a private collection until now. They are set with high-grade natural Carico Lake Turquoise from Nevada. Today this quality is just not available, or at exorbitant prices. The four matching Carico cabochons are a bright lime-green color with pockets of blue amidst tan-brown matrix webbing, set with contrasting Abalone Shell and a green peridot at the stud. Designed and signed by Mitzi of Santa Fe, New Mexico, one of a kind. 5/8" wide x 2 7/8" long, bottom stone is 5/8" x 5/8". Finished with clip backs (can be converted to posts at additional charge).
