I always get excited when I see royal Purple Sugilite with amazing color, especially in a bead necklace so this one did it for me in that department.   Created for two stunning specimens of the South African gem, the large bottom stone measures 5/8" wide x 3/4" long, with both stones showing strong, unflawed color and clarity.  It was made and signed by Navajo jeweler Ruth Ann Begay, who hand-fabricated the sterling pendant center piece and accented the stones solely with silver drops so as not to interfere with the beauty of the stones.  The beautiful barrel beads are 5/16" long x 1/4" thick. with tiny sterling beads in between and finished with sterling beads, cones and lobster-claw clasp.  18" long, extension chain can be added if requested as no additional charge. 

This fantastic, old-style tab necklace was created by long-time New Mexico jeweler, lapidary, painter, poet, turquoise miner and musician Mose McCormack.   Mose has cut five cd's of his music, and has found a following in Australia - check out his MySpace page.  I'm excited about carrying his work.  The turquoise in this piece is high-grade, natural Royston Turquoise from Nevada that shows a multitude of deep, rich shades of blue, aqua and green that makes it look like a vintage necklace that a Navajo would wear.  The spacer beads graduate in size from 1/4" at the center down to 3/16" at the ends, while the tabs measure 3/4" long at the center, down to 1/4" at the smallest.  The two-strand necklace is finished with turquoise cones, hand-made sterling beads and hook and eye clasp.  Feels great on, and will only get better over time with wear and love. 21 1/2" long measuring the (shortest) top strand, so hangs lower ... more info

This exotic turquoise necklace was hand-made by Columbian native beadmaker Michael Garcia, now residing in Colorado. The necklace is made up of extremely rare, natural gem-grade Damale Turquoise from Nevada (with a few bright, high-grade natural blue turquoise in there for contrast and surprise). This material was mined over twenty years ago, and acquired about five years ago in the rough; material like this is rarely if ever available today. The beads were meticulously hand-cut from nuggets and drilled, then went through many stages of grinding trying not to break them in the process.  Except for the jewel centerpiece (5/16" wide x 3/4" long), the beads are not highly polished; the artist chose to leave it with a more natural, understated finish. Ethereal shades of pure electric blue intermix with metallic gold-pyrite matrix in this high-grade, natural turquoise stone from the Morenci Turquoise Mine in Arizona. . The stone is hard and glassy, measuring 11/16" wide by 7/8" long. It is attached to a 16"-long, hand-braided, black Italian leather necklace by a sterling silver housing accented with a silver bead and backed with soft leather. The comfortable necklace is finished at the ends with silver cones and lobster clasp hook plus a 1" silver extension chain. Made by talented Santa Fe artist Dennis Hogan.

Lovely, fluid and completely hand-made. This beautiful five-strand necklace was made by Marvin and Lillian Lovato of the Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico. The 1/8" hand-rolled beads are made from hundreds of tiny natural, hand-made beads of butter-peach Melon Shell from the Sea of Cortez, Blue and Green Kingman Arizona Turquoise (stabilized), Black Jet, White Mother of Pearl Shell, Red Apple Coral  and green Serpentine; pretty!! The beads are smooth to the touch and lay beautifully against the skin. Finished with their custom hand-fabricated sterling silver stamped cones, hook and eye and 5 1/2" extension chain. The necklace is 21 5/8" at it's shortest.

The beads in this go-with-everything heishe necklace were made by hand by Marvin and Lillian Lovato of the Santo Domingo Pueblo in New Mexico. The deep Black Jet contrasts dramatically with blue Kingman Arizona Turquoise and culminates at the center with a matching Jet and Turquoise pendant (1" wide x 1 1/2" long, removable).  The beads are strung in a beautiful, eye-catching pattern as only Lillian can create. The five strands, finished with custom, hand-stamped and signed sterling cones measures 18" long at its shortest with a 4 1/2" silver extension chain for adjusting the length (shown at it's shortest on the model).  Striking looking, smooth to the touch and comfortable to wear.  This summer was the 37th year that the Lovato's have been showing at Indian Market. 

Pretty gift, this necklace is set with two cabochons of natural Mediterranean Red Coral that are a beautiful, high-grade shade of red.  The pendant measures 1/4" x 1 1/4", including bail hanger that holds the 18" long chain.  Signed "S". 

This outrageous necklace is made from natural, gem-grade Persian Turquoise.  Made by famed beadmaker Bruce Eckhardt in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and just available from a private collection, the unusual shaped beads display shades of aqua and green accented with two similar beads of natural Purple Sugilite.  The beads graduate in size from 1 3/8" long at the center to 3/8" long at the ends. There are Orange Spiney, Pink Coral, Fossil Ivory, Opal and blue Turquoise spacer beads as well.  Finished with 14kt gold hook and eye clasp, the necklace is 20 3/4" long. 

This wedding basket pendant is made from sterling silver and copper. It is 5/8" diameter and comes with an 18" sterling silver chain. Navajo made in New mexico and signed by R.H. Begay.
